The bankers, who lifted the Kenya Cup Title last month, led by 8 – 0 at the break and took charge of the match in the second to outclass their opponents.

KCB took the lead after 12 minutes when Darwin Mukidza kicked over a penalty following an infringement by Homeboyz.

Oliver Mang’eni scored the bankers first try following a line out set piece. Mukidza failed to add the extras and the score-line remained 8-0 at the break.

A penalty kick by Mukidza in the second half made it an 11 points advantage as Homeboyz tried valiantly to get on the score board.

Numerical advantage

Their constant indiscretions tested centre referee Godwin Karuga to the limit and he was forced to send off a Homeboyz player to the sin bin.

KCB capitalized on the numerical advantage to score with Curtis Lilako bullying his way over the try line.

The writing was on the wall for the green shirts as Fabian Olando spotted a gap in the Homeboyz defense to provide the platform for substitute Elly Mukaisi to score.

KCB were on a mission and moments to the end of the match dealt the final blow with Essau Otieno scoring another try which Mukidza dutifully converted for a clinical 28 – 0 victory.
