KDF soldiers gun down four Al-Shabaab militants in Boni Forest

Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops on Saturday morning gunned down four suspected Al-Shabaab militants at Sarira area in Boni Forest, Lamu County.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Defence, the militants who were in a group were killed while attempting to cross the border into Kenya at around 7:30am.

The ministry also noted that no Kenyan soldier was injured during the operation, further adding that patrols have since been increased in the area.

“Others in the group escaped with multiple injuries to the neighbouring country. No injuries were recorded on KDF troops during the encounter,” read the statement from the Ministry of Defence.

“KDF troops under Operation Amani Boni have intensified patrols in the locality and will continue, along with other security agencies and support from local residents to pacify the area in a bid to get rid of Al Shabaab terrorists.”
