Traffic disruption is expected at the Gitaru interchange on A8 on the
Southern bypass and Western bypass on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.
The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) said this will pave
way for the scheduled road construction of the Southeastern loop of the Gitaru
interchange which is underway.
According to KeNHA, the traffic disruption is expected next week from
Wednesday until Sunday, September 1, 2024.
Due to this, vehicles from Nakuru to Southern Bypass will turn at
Regen/Magana interchange, 3 kilometers from the Gitaru interchange, and proceed
to the bypass.
Those from the Western Bypass to Nairobi will use the slip road at
Kwa Magu underpass to Gitaru Market then proceed to Mlango Soko and the road
joining A8 at Rungiri.
Vehicles from Nairobi to Ndenderu will turn at Muguku interchange
and proceed to the Western Bypass.
Meanwhile, vehicles from Southern Bypass to Nairobi will take the
left turn at the slip road before making a U-turn to Nairobi via Waiyaki Way.
KeNHA added that vehicles from Southern Bypass to Western Bypass
and vice versa - Nakuru/Mai Mahiu to Western, Nairobi to Southern Bypass - will
not be disrupted.
