The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has issued a
public notice warning motorists of major traffic disruptions expected along the
Rironi–Nakuru–Mau Summit (A8) Highway on Friday, November 28, 2025.
The advisory comes ahead of the official launch of the
upgraded road by President William Ruto scheduled to take place at several
points along the busy corridor.
According to KeNHA, the event is likely to cause significant
traffic congestion throughout the day, affecting both long-distance and local
travel between Nairobi, Nakuru, and surrounding regions.
KeNHA advised motorists to reschedule their travel plans or
use four alternative routes to avoid delays. These comprise the Ngong - Suswa -
Narok - Mau Narok - Njoro - Nakuru route; Nairobi - Thika - Magumu - Njabini -
Ol Kalou - Nakuru route; and Nakuru - Kampi ya Moto - Ravine - Makutano
route.
The fourth alternative route is Nakuru - Njoro - Molo - Mau
Summit.
"We urge all motorists plying these sections of the road
to replan their journeys accordingly, and any incovenience is regretted,"
said KeNHA acting Director General Luka Kimeli.
