Kenya announces 355 new coronavirus cases, 10 deaths and 296 recoveries

355 people tested positive for the new coronavirus between Friday and Saturday, pushing the country’s total case load to 32,118, the Ministry of Health has announced.

The new cases are from 5,724 samples and include 339 Kenyans and 16 foreigners aged betweeen 2-years-old and 81-years old.

213 of the new cases are male while 142 are female, with the Ministry of Health announcing that a total of 417,804 samples have been tested so far.

The cases are distributed as follows:

Nairobi (118), Mombasa (25), Nakuru (25), Kiambu (23), Kajiado (20), Migori (20), Machakos (18), Lamu (15), Kisumu (9), Narok (9), Laikipia (9), Homa Bay (7), Busia (6), Bomet (6), Taita Taveta (5), Kitui (5), Kericho (5), Garissa (4), Uasin Gishu (4), Murang’a (4), Kirinyaga (4), Kisii (3), Samburu (2), and Vihiga (1).

Marsabit, Meru, Kwale, Kilifi, Embu, Nandi, Nyandarua and Tana River also recoded (1) case each.

The Ministry of Health also announced 296 recoveries, with 202 being patients who were under the home-based care while 94 were from various hospitals across the country.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 18,453.

Kenya has also recorded 10 new coronavirus deaths, pushing the total number of fatalities to 542.
