Kenya Power announces token purchase via M-Pesa, USSD code now available

Customers can now purchase their electricity tokens through M-Pesa and USSD code after hours of system failure.

Kenya Power has announced that its online systems which had faced a technical hitch are now up and running.

“We are pleased to inform our customers that the system hitch that was announced earlier has been resolved,” said Kenya Power in a statement on Thursday evening.

“Customers can now purchase tokens through M-Pesa and access other services through the USSD Code *977#.”

The company had earlier reported a network breakdown which it said had been brought about by a network disturbance at its service provider.

It therefore urged its customers to consider alternative modes of buying tokens such as through banks and Airtel Money.
