Kenya To Benefit From Nile Basin Kitty
Speaking during a news briefing, the Executive Director of the forum John Rao Nyaoro said that by the end of November, partner states will widhdraw from funding the project and leave members of the forum to fund the project.
Nyaoro added that Kenya stands to gain as part of the money will be used to conserve the Mau Forest.
This year’s event will kick off on 6th October in Nairobi under the theme “Building sustainable trans-boundary co-operation in a complex river basin.”
It is expected to attract water and natural resource ministers from Burundi, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan, Egypt, Rwanda, Dr Congo and Uganda.
The ministers will come up with ways of using Nile water without conflict.
