Stakeholders in Africa’s clean-energy sector are set to
converge in Nairobi next week for the Sankalp Africa Summit 2026, under the
theme “South–South Rising,” to explore new pathways for collaboration,
enterprise growth, and impact across the Global South.
From 24–26 February 2026, the
summit will bring together entrepreneurs, investors, development finance
institutions, ecosystem builders, and thought leaders from Africa, Asia, Latin
America, and the Middle East. A central focus will be the role of clean energy
in transforming agriculture and strengthening food systems across the
continent.
Energy Catalyst, an Innovate UK
programme, will present leading African clean-energy enterprises demonstrating
how affordable, reliable energy solutions are improving productivity, reducing
post-harvest losses, and enabling reliable cold-chain systems.
A flagship session, “Energy as Infrastructure for
Agriculture: Powering the Food Systems,” will showcase market-ready
technologies that are reshaping food supply chains and livelihoods.
Participating innovators
include Agsol, which provides solar-powered agri-processing solutions for
off-grid farming communities; Gommyr Power Networks, operating solar-battery
microgrid hubs that support cold-chain transport; Hubl Logistics, delivering
zero-emission refrigeration technologies to improve food preservation; and
Compact Syngas Solutions, which converts biomass into clean, low-carbon fuels.
Energy Catalyst will also host
a dedicated exhibition stand throughout the summit, featuring live
demonstrations and media engagement opportunities with company spokespeople.
Funded by the UK’s Foreign,
Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and the Department for Science,
Innovation and Technology (DSIT) under the Ayrton Fund, Energy Catalyst forms
part of the UK’s International Climate Finance commitment, supporting
enterprises that drive both climate action and economic growth.
The Sankalp Africa Summit 2026
provides a platform for stakeholders to witness firsthand how clean-energy
innovations are not only powering Africa’s agriculture but also strengthening
the continent’s resilience and sustainable development.
