Tears of joy have been flowing freely for the family of Beatrice Chebet, whose remarkable performance in Paris saw her win not one, but two gold medals.

Her mother, overwhelmed with emotion, expressed her pride, while her father added, “This isn’t the first time Beatrice has brought glory to our family and the country. She started running in grade four, and she has been winning ever since.”

Reflecting on her journey, Beatrice's father proudly shared, “Alipata medal ya kwanza akiwa under 21... akaongeza zengine akiwa senior.” (She won her first medal while under 21 and added more as a senior.)

Her success has not only uplifted her family but also her entire community. "She even helped build a church in our village," a community member revealed, highlighting the broader impact of her achievements.

Beatrice’s father continued, “Ametusaidia sana kila akishinda.” (She has helped us a lot with every win.) Now, the family and community are eagerly awaiting her return from Paris, ready to celebrate her incredible accomplishments.

Meanwhile, Faith Cherotich, Beatrice’s training mate, has already returned home to a hero’s welcome.

The steeplechase bronze medalist spoke humbly about her success, saying, "I owe it all to hard work and the advice from my coach and family.

" Her coach echoed these sentiments, stating, “Faith ni mchapakazi, na ameonyesha juhudi kubwa sana.” (Faith is a hard worker, and she has shown great determination.)

Despite the celebrations, Faith is already looking ahead. "I’ll celebrate briefly, but my focus is now on the next challenge," she remarked, demonstrating her commitment to continuing her athletic journey.

In Nakuru County, Faith Kipyegon, who secured Kenya’s last gold medal in Paris, is elated with her performance.

Her family watched her races with anticipation, confident in her ability to continue her stellar track record. "Faith has never let us down, and we are thrilled with her results," her brother proudly stated.

The family is now preparing to welcome her home and to add her latest gold medal to her impressive trophy collection.

Kenya’s 800 meters champion also brought glory and attention to Nandi County, where he honed the skills that led to his debut Olympic gold. His assistant coach reflected, “Hii ushindi ni matokeo ya mafunzo mazuri na juhudi.” (This victory is the result of good training and hard work.)

Kenya concluded the Olympics with an impressive haul of eleven medals, all from track events, further cementing the nation’s dominance in athletics.
