Kenya’s ‘oldest’ couple still in love

A couple in Kaisagat village, Trans Nzoia County has confirmed that love can blossom even at old age.

Mzee Isaiah Ng’ombe Kipisri, 121, and his partner Esther Ihoya, 98, are among the oldest couple still alive in Kenya.

Mzee Isaiah has been married to Esther for 78 years and together they have nine children, a total of 396 grandchildren inclusive of great grand children

Esther says that they have an age difference of over 20 years, adding that she was married at 19 while her husband was 41.

According to their seventh born child John Mwavula, the two have been happy in their marriage and have a strong bond despite the old age.

The duo reveals the secret behind living longer is by observing the righ diet and avoiding alcohol and cigarettes.

Mzee Isaiah was a supervisor at a Briton-owned farm before becoming a preacher.
