Kenyatta Appoints 10 Other Heads Of Parastatals

Some of the beneficiaries of the parastatal jobs include former politicians including Abduba Dida who vied for presidency in the last general election but lost.

Dida has now been appointed to be the chairman of the Constituencies Development Fund (CDF).

Former Cabinet Minister Samuel Porghisio has landed a job as the chairperson of the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority.

Former Garsen MP Danson Mungatana will now chair the Kenya Ports Authority Board while former Minister for Co-operative Development and Marketing Peter Njeru Ndwiga will chair Tanathi Water Service Board (TAWSB).

Patrick Osero, who contested the Borabu parliamentary seat also landed a position to chair the Board of Directors of the Agricultural Finance Corporation Board.

Former Mt. Elgon MP Fred Chesebe Kapondi has been appointed to chair Kenya Post Office Savings Bank Board for a period of three years.

Sammy Latema will now chair National Irrigation Board while Alex Chemutai will chair the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board, both for a period of three years.

The Board of Trustees of the Policyholders’ Compensation Fund will now be chaired by Gerishom Otachi while National Housing Corporation Board will be headed by Sammy Chepkwony.

The appointments will be effective from January 10th 2014.

The appointments come amid controversy and condemnation over the appointment of 26 other parastatal chiefs last month.

The appointments were opposed by leaders who felt that political rejects were being rewarded.
