Kericho: Body of missing Eldoret Taxi driver found dumped in a grass field

Police in Eldoret are investigating a homicide, after a taxi driver who went missing on Saturday was found murdered and his body dumped in a grass field in Kericho county's Chepsonoi area.

Allois Muthoka, the deputy police commander in Ainapkoi sub-county, has stated that they are looking into how the deceased, Patrick Muiruri, died, and that they will not spare anyone found culpable.

Muthoka also stated that they will keep two people in custody who were previously apprehended by police officers in order to assist the police in further investigations.

"We had arrested two people and took them to court where they were released on bond. We shall arrest them because it has been determined that their crime is murder/robbery and we present them in court again," he said.

The deceased's family, led by his wife Grace Muiruri, wishes to see justice served, stating that they relied on him from the proceeds of his taxi job, which he had done for many years.

"He had been doing this job since 2008 and he was committed to his job so I don't know how they murdered him. I want justice to be served," she said.
