Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot has been named Senate Majority leader in the house's first sitting. 

Speaker Amason Kingi on Tuesday officially announced the hierarchy of the House, saying Cheruiyot will be deputised by Nakuru Senator Tabitha Karanja.

Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale was handed the Majority Whip position while his Samburu counterpart Steve Lelegwe as deputy Majority Whip.

Kilifi Senator Steward Madzayo and his Kitui counterpart Enoch Wambua have been named Minority and Deputy Minority leader respectively.

Isiolo Senator Fatuma Dullo will serve the House as Minority Whip while her Narok counterpart Ledama Ole Kina will deputise her.
