Keter points fingers at DP Ruto allies, links them to corruption scandals

Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter has urged Deputy President William Ruto to shun politicians with selfish interests if he wants to take over the country’s top seat.

Mr. Keter claimed that some of the DP’s closest allies are the ones fueling corruption scandals in the country.

“I want to tell the Deputy President the truth; those purporting to be supporting him are just with him for their stomachs.

“They are the ones perpetrating corruption in this country from maize to sugar scandals. If he wants to succeed Uhuru, he should abandon them,” the MP said.

He was speaking in Eldoret Town moments after the Court of Appeal upheld his 2017 election victory on Wednesday.

Mr. Keter further urged the Mr. Ruto to form strong alliances if he wants to become the President of Kenya.

According to the Nandi Hills legislator, past Heads of State rose to the position because of support from partnerships with other leaders.

“I heard that the Deputy President is saying he will look for votes on his own. History is clear, no one in Kenya has become president on his own.

“Uhuru Kenyatta is President because of him (Ruto). Jomo Kenyatta was in prison and he became President because of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga,” he added.
