Kiambu Deputy Speaker John Njue arrested for demanding Ksh.130K bribe

Kiambu County Deputy Speaker John Njue Njiru
is presently in police custody after he was arrested for allegedly demanding a
bribe of Ksh.130,000.
Njiru, who is the MCA for Hospital Ward in
Thika, was nabbed by detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission
(EACC).
According to the commission, the MCA sought
the bribe as well as a free portion of prime land belonging to a woman in Thika
in order to “facilitate” and have her allowed to proceed with any activity on her
Ksh.15 million land.
Mr. Njiru is currently being grilled by
sleuths from the anti-graft watchdog at the Integrity Centre Police Station.
