Kirinyaga: 700,000 papers used for rolling bhang recovered at MCA’s shop

Sleuths in Kirinyaga County are probing an incident where two cartons of paper used for rolling bhang were found within Kabare Ward MCA’s premises in Kutus town.

Area OCPD Anthony Mbogo said the two cartons had over 700,000 rolling papers used by bhang peddlers .

“The illegal rolling papers are known as rizla and Kabare ward MCA Chomba Nyaga has recorded statement at Kutus patrol base,” said Mbogo.

Kabare MCA Chomba Nyaga however, in a statement to the police, said the rolling papers were left at his shop by a customer.

“A customer left the cartons to my worker but after staying long I informed the police officers,” he explained in part.

Officers are now in pursuit of one suspect while working to piece together the connection between him and the MCA.
