KISE Director Kiogora lauds institute’s initiatives as he meets CDF Kahariri

Kenya Institute of
Special Education (KISE) Director Norman Kiogora has commended the institute’s
initiatives in supporting disability inclusion and rehabilitation services,
following a meeting with the Chief of Defence Forces, General Charles Kahariri,
on Friday morning.
During his courtesy
call at the Department of Defence Headquarters in Nairobi, Dr Kiogora
highlighted KISE’s milestones in working with defence institutions, including
rehabilitation support for officers living with disabilities and enhancing
learning facilities for learners with special needs.
“We are proud of the
progress KISE has made in contributing to national inclusion efforts,
particularly in partnership with defence institutions,” Kiogora said.
General Kahariri, in
turn, praised KISE’s work, affirming the Kenya Defence Forces’ (KDF) commitment
to expanding collaboration with the institute.
He noted KDF’s
readiness to explore further technical linkages and strategic partnerships
aimed at improving services for personnel with special needs and their
families.
Their engagement focused on strengthening
collaboration between KISE and KDF in areas of special needs education,
rehabilitation, and disability inclusion.
The two leaders agreed
to develop a comprehensive proposal to guide the next phase of cooperation, in
line with national efforts to promote inclusivity and improved quality of life
for persons with special needs.
