Kisii DG Maangi, MP Osoro threaten to sue State over their arrests

Gusii leaders allied to Deputy President William Ruto who were on Monday arrested for allegedly trying to cause chaos during the funeral service of the late former Cabinet Minister Simeon Nyachae have now threatened to sue the State.

The leaders, led by Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi, castigated security officers for being misused by the government to frustrate perceived key political allies of the DP.

South Mugirango Member of Parliament Sylvanus Osoro recounted how he was released from police custody at midnight and abandoned in a thicket saying such atrocities should never be witnessed in the country

The leaders however maintained that they would not bow to intimidation by the police or the government.

Maangi, Osoro and former Kisii Mayor Samwel Omwando spoke on Monday in South Mugirango during a public function.

The trio agreed to make a joint complaint before a court of law.
