Kisii: One dead, several injured after Modern Coast bus plunges into river

One person has been confirmed dead, while others have suffered serious injuries after a Modern Coast Bus crashed into a river in Kisii County.
The bus reportedly lost control and veered off the road at Masosa before plunging into the Nyakomisaro River on Wednesday morning.
Kisii Central OCPD Amos Ambasa confirmed the incident, telling Citizen Digital that the person killed in the accident was a pedestrian who was hit by the bus before it lost control.
He says that the survivors have since been taken to Kisii Referral Hospital where they are undergoing treatment.
The bus was also retrieved from the river and towed to Kisii Police Station, according to the police.
The body of the deceased has been moved to the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital morgue.
