A 24-year-old suspect has been arrested after allegedly stabbing her 38-year-old husband to death at Orata area in Kitengela town, Kajiado County.

The deceased succumbed to the thigh injury while receiving treatment.

It is reported that the couple who had spent the day together attending a church service on Sunday, had a quarrel on Sunday evening resulting to a fatal physical fight.

According to Reuben Thuku Njuguna, the deceased’s father, the suspect, Elizabeth Wanjiku Muthoni called him pleading for help saying they had a dispute which prompted her to stab him on the leg.

Good Samaritans and neighbor rushed Simon Peter Thuku to the nearby Kitengela Sub County hospital where he was shortly pronounced dead.

Njuguna says the couple had lived together for two years, a marriage that had been marred by domestic violence.

He says the suspect had in another incident stabbed his son on the chest and in another incident attempted to stab him while at the in laws home.

According to Njuguna, the family effort to rally the couple to separate following numerous life-threatening conflicts were futile.

Njuguna is now calling on investigating agencies to ensure justice prevails while rallying well-wishers to help him bury his son in Nakuru saying the family has no financial capacity to facilitate burial arrangements.

Neighbors condemn the incident terming it a heinous act.

Confirming the incident, Isinya Sub County police commander Simon Lokitari said investigations into the incident have been launched to ensure justice prevails.

Lokitari urge the public to detest from taking law into their hands during conflicts and instead resolve to solve conflict mutually.

The deceased worked as a tout while the suspect is a shoe vendor.

The suspect who is being held at Kitengela police station is scheduled to be arraigned in Kajiado law courts tomorrow.

The body is being preserved at Kitengela Subcounty Hospital funeral home.
