KRA offices in Kakamega raided

Two computers were on Thursday night stolen at the Kenya Revenue Authority’s offices in Kakamega County less than two weeks after a similar attack on the county’s procurement office where thieves made away with eight more computers.

KRA workers told Citizen Digital that security guards were at fault and may have been sleeping when the theft happened.

“How can a thief get into this company and steal two computers under the watch of the guards? And yet they know the faces of almost every employee,” said one KRA employee.

However, Kakamega County police boss Jacob Sohera said the theft may have been organised with the connivance of KRA employees.

“For the thieves to have walked in and known exactly where the computers were, it must have been in an inside job,” said Jacob.

One suspect has been arrested and is being detained at the Kakamega Police Station.
