Kwale County Assembly closed after five MCAs test positive for COVID-19

Kwale County Assembly has been temporarily closed after five MCAs and several staffers tested positive for Covid-19.

Speaker Sammy Ruwa confirmed the cases saying county assembly staff had been asked to work from home.

The affected MCAs are in self isolation at their homes.

On Sunday, 431 people tested positive for coronavirus in Kenya out of a sample size of 4,627 tested in the last 24 hours.

The Health Ministry said that Kenya’s caseload is now 113,236. Cumulative tests so far conducted are 1,369,326.

From the cases 414 are Kenyans while 17 are foreigners. 272 are males and 159 are females. The youngest is a seven-year-old child while the oldest is 100.

At the same time, five patients succumbed to the disease pushing the cumulative fatalities to 1,913.
