KWS To Recruit 600 Rangers

Environment and natural resources Principal Secretary Richard Lesiyampe says an anti-poaching committee will also be formed and more funds channeled towards intelligence gathering to curb poaching.

Lesiyampe has also revealed that Kenya Wildlife Service will also recruit 600 new rangers from Monday as he put poachers on notice that they will be dealt with firmly.

This comes a day after six senior KWS officers were suspended to pave way for investigations amid increased poaching with 57 elephants and 18 rhinos killed so far this year.
