Laikipia rancher Lucy Jennings succumbs to gunshot wounds

Jennings died on Thursday morning while undergoing treatment at Pope Benedict XIV Hospital in Nyahururu. 

According to his brother Njihia Mbugua, the deceased had been receiving treatment while at the hospitals ICU, but her condition worsened in the wee hours of Thursday, when she breathed her last.

The assailants ambushed Jennings on January 21, as she was heading to church. She sustain gunshots at the back of her head and on the hand. 

Police officers have so far arrested six suspects in connection with the incident, and they are yet to be charged in court. 

Laikipia West Sub-County Police Commander Benjamin Muhia said police are trailing more suspects and seek to nab the weapon used in the shooting incident.
