Lamu: GSU officer kills lover, her daughter before shooting himself dead

Police in Mokowe, Lamu West, Lamu County, are investigating an incident where a GSU constable reportedly shot dead a local school teacher and her daughter before turning the gun on himself.

The tragic event occurred on Sunday at around 5:30 am, with neighbours saying they heard four gunshots before alerting police officers who came, broke into the house, and found three lifeless bodies.

The teacher identified as Sheila Mukoya was shot twice, her daughter was killed by one bullet while the officer died from a single gunshot.

Neighbours say the GSU officer was in a relationship with the teacher and that the two had quarreled on Saturday night before the situation escalated on Sunday morning.

The bodies have been moved to the Mpeketoni Sub-County Hospital morgue.
