Lamu: Investigations as man, 48, abducted, killed and body dumped outside his house

Muthemi Funga was abducted in the presence of his wife and children, according to a police report.

This prompted his wife to report the abduction to authorities at Kibaoni Police Station, who soon discovered Muthemi's dead body near Jima forest after conducting a search.

In confirming the incident, Lamu County Commissioner Luis Rono clarified that it was a criminal case and not related to terrorism.

''This is not a terror related case we are fully committed to bringing the perpetrators to justice and restoring a sense of security to the affected community,'' Rono stated.

In addition, the Commissioner further said that investigations were underway.

The incident follows a recent similar incident in the county in which a 65-year-old Thuo Mwenje, a resident of the Marafa area in Mkunumbi ward, met a similar fate.
