The Supreme Court of Kenya is in its early stages of hearing the Presidential Election Petition challenging the declaration of William Ruto as President-elect.

On Thursday the court will hear submissions from Counsel representing IEBC, Wafula Chebukati, 4 commissioners (Juliana Cherera, Irene Masit, Justus Nyang’aya and Francis Wanderi), William Ruto and Rigathi Gachagua, Attorney General Paul Kihara and 3 Amici Curiae.

The Supreme Court will give its ruling on September 5, lifting the lid on whether William Ruto was duly elected as the 5th President of Kenya, and if the IEBC conducted a free and fair exercise.
