2 dead as lorry plunges into river Nyamindi in Kirinyaga

Two people have died, two others injured after a lorry with five people on board plunged into Nyamindi river along the Kiamutugu-Gituba road in Gichugu, Kirinyaga County.
The lorry that was heading towards Gituba from Kiamutugu trading centre was ferrying five people when it plunged into the river Nyamindi. One other person has been reported missing.
Police at the scene confirmed the four victims were rescued and rushed to Kiamutugu Health Centre.
Two of them, who were in critical condition were then moved to Kerugoya Hospital.
Police are searching for one unaccounted person as efforts to retrieve the lorry continue.
