Machakos deputy governor rubbishes Wavinya Ndeti’s Wiper deal
Machakos County deputy governor and gubernatorial aspirant, Bernard Kiala, has castigated the move by the Wiper Party to give former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti a direct ticket to face Dr Alfred Mutua of Maendeleo Chap Chap in August polls.
This is after it was reported that the Wiper Party entered a pact with Ndeti’s Chama Cha Uzalendo (CCU) Party, locking out Kiala who has been seen as the face of Wiper for the last four years in Machakos County.
Speaking at Mutituni Market, Kiala expressed his disappointment with the move saying the party has betrayed him and challenged the Wavinya-Mathuki team to square it out with him at the ballot during the primaries.
He affirmed that he would be in the nominations slated for next week, adding that Ms Ndeti has not been campaigning despite claiming that she is Wiper luminary in Machakos County.
Kiala has rubbished the deal in which he was promised a 30 per cent stake in the county government, insisting that he must be on the ballot.
Machakos County Wiper Secretary General Peter Kyuli has dismissed the deal saying every candidate should be subjected to nominations under the principle of fairness to all.
Wavinya’s candidature has been lauded by some lawmakers including Dr Susan Musyoka (Women Rep), Francis Mwangangi (Yatta MP) and Patrick Makau (Mavoko MP).
