Machakos: Love triangle turns violent after husband beats man he found with his wife into coma

A middle-aged man is in critical condition at the Machakos Level 5 Hospital following a violent altercation linked to a suspected love triangle.

According to eyewitnesses, the man - who comes from Mbooni, Makueni County - was found in a compromising situation with another man's wife inside their matrimonial home. 

The husband, who had just returned from work, is said to have found the man in their bed, sparking a violent confrontation.

Enraged by the turn of events, the husband reportedly attacked the man, leaving him with severe head injuries. 

Alarmed by the commotion, neighbours alerted the police, who arrived at the scene to find the man unconscious. 

He was rushed to Machakos Level 5 Hospital, where he remains in a coma and is awaiting emergency surgery for his injuries.

The husband and wife were taken into custody at Machakos Police Station. As of now, no formal charges have been filed, as the case depends on the injured man's condition.

This means that should the victim succumb to his injuries, the charges could escalate to murder.
