Machine gun stolen from police in 2021 recovered in Laikipia
Detectives from the National Government Administration Officers (NGAO) said the weapon, a CQ machine gun, was used in a battle with bandits before it went missing.
The weapon, according to a statement from the National Police Service, was first handed over to an assistant chief after "a series of community policing and engagements with the public."
It was then handed over to Ol Moran Police Station by Kirima Deputy County Commissioner Mr. John Orata, who lauded members of the public for their cooperation and support in combating banditry in the area.
Members of the public have also been encouraged to embrace the urge by authorities to volunteer in surrendering firearms.
