Makueni man kills ex-wife, injures her brother

A man from Mbooni East, Makueni County, who is accused of killing his ex-wife and injuring her brother has been detained.

34-year-old Alphonce Kisavi surrendered to police on Tuesday, and he has been detained at Mumbuni police station pending further investigations.

Muthwani assistant chief Peter Kasangi says the suspect had separated from his 30-year-old wife three months ago.

At around 7 pm on Monday, the suspect went to his in-laws' home, where he found his the woman and her brother.

He then attacked the man with a machete, leaving him with serious head injuries before killing his ex-wife with the same panga.

The suspect had fled the scene before neighbours responded.
