Man, 25, hacks father to death in Bomet over land dispute

A 25-year-old man allegedly killed his 56-year-old father with a kitchen knife following a heated argument over a land dispute conflict in Kipsinende village in Konoin, Bomet County.

According to Bomet County Police Commander Edward Imbwaga, Hillary Yegon allegedly picked up the weapon and slit his father's throat, Joel Kipyegon Kosgei, instantly dying from the severe bleeding.

In retaliation, members of the public turned against him, beating him severely. He sustained serious injuries and lost consciousness before being taken to Kapkatet Hospital for treatment.

Police recovered the killer weapon, with a blood stain. The body was moved to Kapkatet hospital mortuary.
