Kasyoki, who was spectacularly unmasked in a Citizen TV #MurderForProfit exclusive, was arrested on Tuesday in Kasarani, Nairobi County at the Thika Road Mall after members of the public sighted him.

Nairobi Regional CID boss Nicholas Kamwende said that members of the public alerted the Kasarani CID boss about Kasyoki’s sighting and he was arrested moments later.

He is currently being held at the Kasarani Police Station where awaiting to be transferred to Kangundo police station where he the crime is alleged to have happened.

Kasyoki’s arrest comes two days after Citizen TV aired the shocking expose on the mysterious death of his 27-year-old nephew Eric Makau Musyoka.

Makau, who was jobless, had two life insurance policies, one worth Ksh.1 million with Jubilee Insurance and the other worth Ksh.8 million.

Evans Kasyoki, according to the expose, took the insurance using the deceased’s name and listed himself as the beneficiary.

Both forms, according to a forensic document examiner at DCI said had similar handwriting.

Makau was found dead just meters away from his home and it was then that Musyoki started claiming for the monies from the insurance companies.

Following the expose, ICEA Lion terminated his contract as an insurance agent even as the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) ordered for his arrest.

Taking to Twitter, the Noordin Haji-led team indicated that their attention had been drawn to the expose adding: “…due to the nature of this case, the DPP has directed that immediate legal steps be taken to ensure justice is done.”

Speaking to Citizen TV on Monday August 14,2018, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) also intimated that renewed efforts to arrest the man were underway.
