A man who was arrested on February 1, 2023 for allegedly sodomizing his six-year-old son at Riruta Estate in Nairobi has been freed on a Ksh.500,000 bond and a surety of the same amount by a city court.

Kibera Senior Principal Magistrate Philip Mutua released the suspect, who had been charged with incest and committing an indecent act with a child, after he pleaded not guilty to the offences.

According to court documents, the man reportedly defiled his son when his wife was away from home.

Upon returning, the boy's mother noticed that her son had difficulties walking and - upon questioning him - found out that he had been defiled by her spouse.

She proceeded to report the matter to police after the man confessed to having committed the act. He reportedly felt remorse for his actions but his wife was having none of it.

The case will be heard on February 22, 2023.
