Man allegedly kills self after stabbing ex-wife in Ainamoi

A sombre mood engulfed Kiburet village in Ainamoi constituency after a 25-year-old man allegedly stabbed his ex-wife to death.

The man identified as Collins Kiprotich reportedly committed suicide shortly after by hanging himself from a tree.

According to Ainamoi location chief Rotich Richard Bett, the man is suspected to have killed Miriam Chepchirchir, 22, by stabbing her several times.

He apparently then covered the body on a bed inside the house they were staying in.

The chief revealed that the two were recently married but separated shortly after forcing the girl to return to her parents home.

She was allegedly convinced to go back to their matrimonial home.

By the time journalists arrived at the scene, the two bodies had not yet been moved to the morgue.
