Man brutally kills wife with panga in Eldoret
A 37-year-old man has been arrested and placed in custody at the Kaptagat Police station on allegations of killing his 23-year-old wife in cold blood on Wednesday night,
The station’s OCS, Charles Laboso, confirmed the incident, saying the suspect hacked his wife on the neck and feet multiple times with a machete.
According to the police chief, the two had a disagreement over an unspecified matter and were having marital problems.
Mr. Laboso, who bemoaned the growing number of worrying incidents of gender-based violence, urged residents to seek alternative dispute resolution avenues.
The deceased’s body was taken to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary.
The victims were said to be living with the officer at the time of the shooting, but the reason for the shooting is still unknown.
