Man charged with forging signature on land sale agreement freed on Ksh.300K cash bail

- The court heard that James Nyagate Okari, on diverse dates between May 1 and November 20, 2022 forged a signature on a land sale agreement.
- He reportedly purported to have been made by the Director of Soil Merchants Kenya Limited; fact he knew to be false.
A man was on Friday arraigned before a
Nairobi court and charged with forgery, where he pleaded not guilty.
The court heard that James Nyagate Okari, on
diverse dates between May 1 and November 20, 2022 forged a signature on a land
sale agreement purporting to have been made by the Director of Soil Merchants
Kenya Limited; fact he knew to be false.
The suspect faces three other counts of obtaining
goods by false pretences.
In the three counts, it is alleged that he
pretended that he was in a position to sell land to different people and obtained
over Ksh.370,000.
Okari was released on a cash bail of Ksh.300,000.
