Man linked to Ivy Wangechi murder suffered skull fracture: doctors

A man who allegedly murdered Ivy Wangechi, a Moi University student in Eldoret, suffered skull fracture, doctors have revealed.

Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital CEO Wilson Arwasa said this after Naftali Kinuthia underwent a CT scan on Wednesday.

He is recuperating at the hospital under tight security after he was attacked by a mob following the murder of the student.

Dr. Arwasa said the man also sustained soft tissue injuries on his face.

His parents are said to have visited him on Wednesday morning alongside officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations office.

Reports indicate that police are camping at the facility in readiness to interrogate him over the incident.

A car believed to have been used by the attacker, a CV Honda with Reg. No. KCB 836P has also been seized.

The late Ivy Wangechi was a sixth year Medicine student at the Moi University.

The motive of her murder is yet to be established.

On Tuesday, students barricaded roads in Eldoret bringing businesses to a standstill as they protested the killing of their colleague.

They proceeded to Eldoret Central Police Station demanding to be addressed over the incident.

Eldoret West police boss Zachariah Bitok had a difficult time trying to calm them down after he told them that the incident had occurred in another area of jurisdiction.

Bitok however assured them that the relevant authorities would begin investigations in to the murder.
