On Feb. 22, Kyle Nathanial McHenry, 20, called Fort Mters police to follow up on a bomb threat he reported on three days prior. According to the report, McHenry wanted to know why the person he alleged to have made the threat was not arrested. He continued to ask questions about another case related to this same person.
During further questioning by the detective, McHenry was reminded that filing a false report was illegal. The detective asked McHenry if he had sent the email to himself, and McHenry stated he did and that he made a mistake, the report reads.
Detectives went to McHenry's home to discuss the situation further.
McHenry confirmed that he reported receiving an email stating, "There's a bomb on your grandpa's property."
In the report, McHenry admitted that he was the one who actually sent the bomb threat email to his personal email from another account, posing as another person.
He also sent other emails from this account that stated, "I'm going to break in your house and shoot u in the [expletive] head." And another that read, "I'm going to kill you. Watch me."
McHenry admitted he wrote and sent all of the emails to himself while posing as another person as "revenge."
McHenry was arrested after confessing to making false reports to police and faces charges of making false reports to police, fraud, and misuse of false evidence.
