Man shot dead outside Narok night club over parking dispute

A 35-year-old man
was shot dead in the early hours of Saturday outside Mara Junction Night Club
in Narok following an altercation over a parking space.
According to a
police report, the fatal shooting involved a licensed civilian firearm holder,
identified as Paul Sena (53) and the victim, Mandela Nabala.
Sena, who was
driving a Toyota Fortuner, reportedly got into a confrontation with Nabala, who
was behind the wheel of a Subaru Forester.
In the heat of the
altercation, Sena allegedly drew his Glock pistol and shot Nabala once in the
chin.
“It was reported
today by one Ambrose Lelesit, the proprietor of Mara Junction Night Club, that
there was a shooting incident within the premises at the parking yard,” read
the police report.
Police say the
club’s proprietor, Ambrose Lelesit, reported the 2:30am incident where officers
led by the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) rushed to the scene, which is
located approximately 7 kilometres south of the Narok Police Station.
The victim was
rushed to the Narok County Referral Hospital but was pronounced dead on
arrival.
Police processed
the scene, recovered the firearm loaded with 14 rounds of ammunition, and
retrieved one spent cartridge.
The suspect was
arrested and is currently in custody, while the vehicle was detained at the
Narok Police Station as investigations continue.
