Man stabs friend to death over shoes in Kericho

A 40-year-old man in Kericho was arrested on Wednesday after he stabbed his friend to death over shoes.

Confirming the incident, Kipkelion assistant chief, David Korir said that the suspect, Julius Kerich stabbed his friend, Michael Kikwai twice on the chest and killed him.

Korir further revealed that the two were seen drinking together at a nearby bar before leaving for the accused’s house where he reportedly demanded for his shoes and an argument ensued that resulted in Kikwai’s fatal stabbing.

The deceased is said to have tried to flee but collapsed and died after a few meters.

Police have since arrested Kerich and is being held at the Kipkelion police station.
