Man stones wife to death in dispute over shop

A middle-aged man stoned his wife to death in Biretwo area,
Elgeyo Marakwet County.
Boniface Kokwon is said to have been angered after a
suspicion that his wife, Ivy Chelagat, stole from his shop, and opened her own shop
100 meters away.
The Saturday morning incident shocked residents who watched
helplessly as the unfortunate incident unfolded.
“We found the lady lying dead, and the man was holding a
knife. You could see the big stone he used to hit her head,” Simon Kiplagat, a
businessman in the area recounted.
The suspect was arrested on Saturday, and detained at Iten Police
station.
The Biretwo area is a business hub for mango trade from Tot
and the lower side of Kerio Valley.
