Ngila chopped of his wife Mwende’s hands on Sunday after accusing her of being barren, even though according to Mwende the doctor had found that he was the one unable to conceive.

Speaking at her parent’s home in Kathama Village, Machakos, Mwende said she has now been left unable to fend for herself.

Her parents are now appealing for help to take care of her as they are also impoverished.

FIDA Chair Josephine Mongare is demanding action from IG Joseph Boinett to ensure justice, amid a rise in violence against women.

The case will be heard on the 5t of August.
