Man wakes up to dead woman after night of merry-making in Nyamira

A night of merry-making ended in tragedy after a man woke up to find the woman who had taken him to her home dead in bed.

According to a police report seen by Citizen Digital, Mark Rubo and the deceased – Rose Kerubo Ondieki – on Friday went out on a drinking spree at Songonga village in Kebirigo, Nyamira County.

The 34-year-old woman and her 56-year-old counterpart later returned to her home and went to sleep on the same bed.

However, come 6am on Saturday morning, Ms. Ondieki was discovered to have died under unclear circumstances.

The deceased’s 20-year-old daughter told police that her mother “came back at around 8pm very drunk” and that she “supported her to walk from the road to the house and placed her on the bed.”

The scene has since been processed and documented by police while the body of the deceased was taken to the Nyamira County Referral Hospital mortuary awaiting autopsy.
