One killed, two injured at a nightclub in Kisumu

Police in Kisumu are hunting for two suspects after a man was on Sunday night stabbed to death at a nightclub in Kondele area after a disagreement.

Kisumu Central sub-county police commander Antony Maina says three men stormed the club at around 4:30 in the morning and forced their way in, causing a commotion.

Maina said the suspects stabbed two men during the incident who were then rushed to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital.

One, however, died while receiving treatment while the other was treated and discharged.

He added that the three knife-wielding suspects demanded access to the club but when restrained, they picked up a fight with the club security.

One of the suspects was injured and was also taken to hospital under police custody as two of his accomplices escaped.

The deceased was a 34-year-old manager to a popular Ohangla artist who was performing at the club while the man who was injured is the artist's security personnel.
