MCAs To Seek Compensation From British Gov’t

25 members of the Kericho County Assembly passed a motion to mandate Governor Paul Chepkwony’s administration to pursue compensation for members of the local community who were allegedly subjected to untold human suffering through illegal acquisition of their ancestral land in 1918.

In the motion tabled by Chepto-Roriet-Seretut Ward representative Livingstone Kipkoech, the dark historical event led to the displacement of many house-holds in Chagaik, Chey-Men, Chemo-Sit and Mau areas in Kericho County.

The MCAs at the same time said Queen Elizabeth the second must apologize for the ills the British government committed against the two communities.
