McDonald Mariga gets Jubilee ticket to vie in Kibra by-election
Football star McDonald Mariga will be the Jubilee Party candidate in the Kibra parliamentary by-election set to be held on November 7.
This is after the Jubilee National Elections Board on Monday settled on Mariga as their nominee for the Kibra parliamentary race from a list of 16 other aspirants.
The former Kenyan international alongside the other aspirants appeared before the party’s elections board on Monday for vetting.
Sources privy to the interviews told Citizen Digital that the aspirants were evaluated by a panel of six members.
They were examined on among other issues, knowledge of party policies, ability to finance campaigns, understanding of parliamentary work and the vision for Kibra.
Mariga is said to have emerged the party’s most preferred candidate after scoring 500 out of the possible 600 marks in the interview.
The former UEFA Champions league winner was escorted to the Jubilee headquarters for the vetting by a host of supporters who engaged in singing and dancing.
