Meet Vihiga MCA candidate who uses mkokoteni for campaigns

As campaigns enter the home stretch, candidates are crisscrossing their regions in a bid to woe supporters to vote for them during the August polls. 

As some traverse using high-end cars, 38-year-old Alukoye uses a mkokoteni in a bid to sell his manifesto to his supporters. 

He says he is unable to raise funds for hiring a convoy of vehicles as compared to his opponents.

Having come from a humble background, Alukoye revealed that Mkokoteni gives him the opportunity to freely interact with most of his supporters as compared to his opponents. 

He says given the opportunity, he will improve the livehoods of the residents. 

This, he says he will do through creating job opportunities for the majority of youth while empowering them acquire skills. 

He says he has composed songs in favour of his Kenya kwanza affiliate party which pulls huge crowds during his campaigns.
