Meru County Gubernatorial Politics

The bitter political rivalry between TNA and APK in the Meru region emerged on Saturday, just two days after the court of appeal nullified the election of Peter Munya of APK as Meru county governor. Munya and his political ach-rival – former assistant minister Dr Kilemi Mwiria of TNA – on Saturday attended series of Deputy President William Ruto's rallies in Meru where they both dared each other ahead of the yet to be announced gubernatorial by-election. And as Jacky Maribe reports, at some point, the deputy president had to intervene and call for truce.
